Inyathelo's “Breakfast on the 2nd Floor” dialogues were introduced in 2010 to provide a space for energetic and provocative engagement on key issues facing civil society and South Africa.
25 November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Inyathelo invites you to a dialogue reflecting on violence against women, the 60th anniversary of the Women’s March to the Union Buildings, and to remember Fezekile Kuzwayo.
The discussion will be led by Zubeida Jaffer and Nomboniso Gasa, with a response by Simamkele Dlakavu.
Zubeida Jaffer is an award-winning journalist and author, and Nomboniso Gasa is a researcher, analyst, and writer on gender, political and cultural issues. Simamkele Dlakavu is a Fallist and a Masters student in African Literature at Wits. She is a member of a Black Feminist collective called Manyano, a collective that has been mobilizing to build a mass-based Black Feminist movement in South Africa.
The session will be moderated by Nomfundo Walaza, the Acting Executive Director of Inyathelo.
